As well as her Tv work, Meinir thrives at being on the farm. Farming is what she does every spare minute she has! Gary her husband (the current NFU Cymru livestock champion), and Meinir farm together at Shadog in Pentrecwrt, Llandysul, and since they got married they have  thrown themselves whole heartedly into developing and improving the livestock and farm, with the help of their two young children Sioned and Dafydd.

They predominantly sell their stock for breeding, they keep 200 head of cattle, which include 40 sucklers, young stock and are calving just shy of 60 heifers in the spring to sell with calves at foot in May / June time. They have a small pedigree herd of Limousine cattle,  and have just ventured into Aberdeen Angus, buying their first dozen from the reknown Blelack dispersal sale at stirling last month.

On the Sheep front, they keep about 600 sheep, about 350 pedigree texels, pure suffolks, charolais, Beltex and Blueface and they will sell about 150 -200 tups every year. They also keep a variety of different animals from pigs to shetland ponies.

She was also an active member of Llanfynydd Young Farmers in Carmarthenshire, being a past Lady Ambassador, Member of the year and County Chairman. She is forever grateful for all the experiences and opportunities that was given to her during her time as a member from shearing to singing and travelling. Since going to old to compete, she loves to  help train youngsters for various competitions from public speaking to stock judging.

Over the years, she has been honoured to win some awards for her work, from the United counties Agricultural and Hunters Society Award  for her services to Agriculture, to the FUW Bob Davies memorial award in 2014 for her work to increase the public profile of welsh farming. Farming is at the heart of everything Meinir does, from her TV work to her life on the farm. She is very passionate for the industry, and is thankful to be able to be a part of the wonderful farming community that we have here in Wales.
