Jean-Francois has been the policy lead for flood & coastal erosion risk management at the Welsh Local Government Association for the past 8 years and is also the current Chair of the Wales Coastal Groups Forum. 
 
His role is to support and advise Local Authorities with the delivery of their FCERM functions and work closely with a range of stakeholders in the development of policies, strategies, and delivery of national initiatives.
 
The broad portfolio coupled with a background in environmental science has allowed Jean-Francois to gain a good understanding of the challenges faced by practitioners when trying to manage a growing risk with diminishing resources, consider FCERM more holistically, and driven him to champion partnership working with a range of sectors to promote collaboration and drive improvement in how we jointly consider FCERM and adaptation.
