Russel has worked in the Welsh public sector for over 25 years, across policy and delivery functions at a senior level in local government, national government and international institutions. Throughout his career, he has worked to represent and raise the profile of Wales internationally, including heading numerous international trade delegations to key markets across all sectors. As Deputy Director for Trade and Invest in the Welsh Government, he leads the delivery of trade (export support) programmes; inward investment promotions activities; a programme of national/international trade events; all supporting the delivery of the Welsh Government’s International Strategy and Export Action Plan.
