We have put together some hints and tips to help you plan your submission(s):
Submitting your entry
- Entries must be completed using our online application platform (link below)
- We recommend that you use Google Chrome, although the platform is supported by other browsers
- Once you have submitted your entry, please also register to attend the virtual event using the “register” button in the top toolbar.
- All submitters must provide background information within the “Background” section of the entry form about your sector to help the judges. Text within the “Background” section will not be part of the 1,000 word limit.
Awards timeline
- Open for entries: Tuesday 21 September
- Closing date for entries: 23:59 on Friday 15 October
- Finalists announced: End of October
- Category filming for shortlisted finalists*: Start of November
- Covid-19 commendation event (virtual): Wednesday 8 December
*All shortlisted finalists are required to be interviewed and filmed for their category film. This will be played during the virtual event
Suggestions for your entry
Please note, judges will want to clearly understand and identify measurable results arising from your initiative(s) so these need to be highlighted in your submission. Some ideas to help communicate these are listed below as well as general guidance on submission content.
- Describe the challenge that you were trying to overcome.
- Explain how the initiative/project benefitted the organisation.
- Share the range of information you used to inform your actions.
- Quantify the results of the initiatives using appropriate metrics where possible, for example:
- people-related indicators (e.g. absence levels, staff turnover, engagement)
- revenue, productivity
- customer/employee engagement levels
- customer/employee satisfaction levels
- any other outcomes such as the impact on the credibility and integrity of the function/profession within the organisation
- Describe the people aspects of the project or initiative.
- How was support secured from colleagues at all levels within organisation.
- Explain how this project/initiative has changed workplace culture and/or made sustainable changes.
- Clarify how this experience has had a positive impact on employee wellbeing, given the challenges presented by the pandemic.
