Bridgend College

The Spiders Web- an extraordinary vision for zero emissions

Bridgend College is a Further Education (FE) College which supports in excess of 10,000 full and part time learners, and employs around 700 members of staff across four campuses at Bridgend, Pencoed, Queen’s Road and Maesteg.  Bridgend is situated equidistant between Cardiff, the Welsh capital, and the city of Swansea; both cities have ambitious city deals and regionalisation plans along the M4 corridor, presenting exciting opportunities for the college and our future aspirations. Against this background, the college serves its learners through offering a wide range of courses, from pre-entry to degree level, in over 20 vocational areas.  Bridgend College works in partnership with a wide range of organisations to meet the educational needs of the local community it serves; this includes local businesses, Bridgend County Borough Council for Adult Community Learning (ACL) provision and local Comprehensive Schools for the 14-19 Learning Pathways, the Junior Apprenticeship Programme and Penybont 6th Form College; our collaborative partnership with Pencoed Comprehensive School. The college operates a 100 place day nursery and Weston House; a 32 bedroom specialist residential provision for young people with additional needs. The College has established very successful partnerships with Cardiff Metropolitan University and the University of South Wales.  Work Based Learning also continues to go from strength to strength, with an ever increasing contract and an excellent track record in framework completions.
